About Expedition Everest
The Expedition Everest team is comprised of two climbers: Toby Storie-Pugh, avid climber and founder of Flying Kites, a children's home in Kenya, and Helen Kinuthia, a Kenyan mountaineer and schoolteacher. Helen, if successful, will be the first Kenyan and the first black African female mountaineer to summit the world's highest mountain.Climbing Everest is a endeavor that requires utter commitment and a deep reserve of physical and mental strength. It is a battle of attrition that rewards preparation, persistence and courage. Helen will be an inspiring example to millions of women across Kenya and Africa, on whose shoulders so much responsibility lies, but to whom, so often, little credit is given. This expedition is dedicated to those unsung heroes.
